However, Pinnacle’s odds are not fixed: they change right up until the start of the event. Among all these fluctuations, it's the closing odds that most accurately reflect the true probability.  More than EV, this CLV makes it possible to measure the theoretical profitability of a bet.

Your short-term results depend partly on variance — the mathematical concept used to describe the irreducible randomness of any uncertain event. Only a large number of bets will allow you to offset this variance.
